Standing Committee on Nutrition : « Changing food systems for better nutrition »

« In recent years, attention to the links between nutrition and agriculture has grown again. Often these links show up as agricultural components in a nutrition project, or vice versa. Other studies detail the pathways through which agriculture influences nutrition. Encouragement to take a broader view and develop nutrition-sensitive agriculture and food systems (after all, those pathways operate within complex systems) has been more recent. A major question then is how to take advantage of opportunities to improve nutrition throughout the system, so that when taken as a whole the system is more environmentally and socially sustainable, more gender-sensitive and more likely to improve nutrition. »
