World Obesity : « Nutrient Profiling : Changing the food of Britain »

Published in March 2015 by the Coronary Prevention Group in collaboration with the World Obesity Federation.

« In this report we attempt to assess the opportunities for influencing domestic UK food supplies in order to improve nutrition security, focusing on the use of nutrient profiling to categorise food products, and the application of nutrient profiling to food policy implementation. The overall purpose is to map and scope the opportunities for interventions to promote public health using nutrient profiling, particularly where nutrient profiling can be used as a tool for defining products and assisting decisions about their categorisation. …

The benefits that can be gained from improving dietary health in Britain, in terms of reduced premature deaths and reduced ill health, have been calculated for the government agency Ofcom and are shown here. »
